　私は仕事で国外アーティストのライブ写真を撮ってレビューを英文で書き、頻繁に国外と連絡のやり取りをし、一見派手に活動して見えるようですが常に悩んでいます。あまりの大変さに疲弊してしまい、フィルムで撮ってプリントする事も、国外に出る事も、長年余裕が無く出来ていません。純粋に写真を撮る楽しさも、音楽を聴く喜びも失いかけている気がします。そんな自分を戒めるため出品します。 現在の言い訳だらけの自分に喝を入れるような20年以上前のポジを選び、自宅でスキャン、エディット、プリントしました。Paper Poolにてキャプションと共にご覧下さい。私含め23名の写真がハービー・山口さんの写真と共に展示されます。ご高覧頂けましたら幸いです。 皆さんのお越しをお待ちしております！

I’m pleased to announce  that I take part in a group photo exhibition at Paper Pool in Yutenji, Tokyo, from August 30th to September 10th 2023. Please feel free to drop in!

6 pm - 10 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays,

12 pm - 5 pm on Sundays. (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays) 

 ・By appointment only. Paper Pool is an art gallery which also has a darkroom and a cafe bar. Please order a drink/something. Paper Pool doesn’t take credit cards. Please pay by cash or PayPay.

 ・About my works: 

The theme of the group exhibition is “Click Again!”. I will exhibit one framed photo took with film camera in 2001. I usually take concert photos of international musicians and write gig reviews as a job.  I have been so busy with contacting overseas colleagues.  Although you might think I’m always an active photographer, actually I’m also struggling. Honestly I am so exhausted by the amount of work I have to do and learn, and I feel I’m at the limit of my ability. I haven’t been able to take pictures with my film camera, or print them in the darkroom, which I loved, for many years. I haven’t traveled out of the country for a long time. It’s so sad to feel that I have forgotten the pure joy of photography and the pleasure of listening to music. With showcasing my old photograph,  I remind myself of my passion and braveness. I selected a piece of positive film from over 20 years ago, scanned, edited, and printed it by myself. This shot reminds me of my young days and make me feel that I have to reflect on myself. I hope you will enjoy my work at Paper Pool. The exhibition will be on display along with other 22 photographers’ works. And guess what? You can see Herbie Yamaguchi’s photograph there!
