Gizmodrome at Orchard Hall, Tokyo, 9 Apr. 2018.

I’ve never thought one of my bucket list artists appears in front of my camera so soon!

The last time I saw Stewart Copeland was The Police’s reunion tour back in 2008 in Tokyo.  I was in the audience and watching the show.  I couldn’t be happier… Now I’m working as a photographer and capturing him!  Words can not describe my feeling.

The shooting was really tough. I was allowed to shoot first 3 songs only from the far side.  I could hardly find space to move.  I think the audience in the front row might get better shots with their cell phones… Anyway, it’s my job and I was allowed to bring my Sony and telephoto lens.  The first 3 songs were played from their self-titled debut album ‘Gizmodrome’.  I felt the shooting time was too short!  When I was leaving the venue, I could hear they were playing ‘Miss Gradenko’ from The Police’s last album ‘Synchronicity’, which I used to listen at least ten thousand times.  I was filled with deep emotion and almost in tears.
